Children's House of the Windsors

About Us

Children’s House of the Windsors opens in the Fall of 2005. Children’s House has Montessori Corner, an American Montessori Society (AMS ) accredited Montessori school located in Plainsboro, run the educational content of the school. The relationship of the two schools is a natural one, as the founders of Children’s House are also the founders of Montessori Corner.

Parents can rely on whether the quality of education being offered is worthy of being described as "Montessori" if the school has successfully completed an accreditation process. Because it is voluntary, only the schools that believe they offer an authentic Montessori education will consider going through the strenuous requirements of accreditation. Less than 100 schools have been accredited by the AMS at the end of 2004. The accreditation requirements of the AMS are the most rigorous in the United States, and are generally accepted worldwide.

Montessori Corner, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt school established in 1994, is accredited by the American Montessori Society, the Middles States Association and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation. Montessori Corner is the model school for the accredited Montessori Teacher Training Institute of New Jersey. Teachers at Montessori Corner are the instructors for new AMS certified Montessori teachers, who teach in schools throughout the country. (For more information about Montessori Corner, please visit their web site. Montessori Corner’s commitment to its accreditation is your assurance that your children will receive an authentic Montessori education at Children’s House.

Children's House of the Windsors Logo

The logo of the school is a weathervane, because the school gives direction to our children.  This theme is carried through the school where the names of the primary classrooms are the primary directions: North, East, West and South.  The early childhood classroom is named "Meridian," a place from which all directions start.

The logo is also unique in that the components are part of the metal inset work that is common to all authentic Montessori schools.  Any Montessori child seeing our logo will immediately recognize our school as a place where they will be welcomed.
